LEGO® Ideas has opened its first challenge officially combining the Star Wars™ and Marvel universes. The announcement was made on 10 October at New York Comic Con and precedes the Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles comic crossover, launching in January 2027.

Three ways to build the crossover

Participants can choose from three themes: vehicles, characters or scenes. The goal is to reinterpret elements from both universes in one LEGO® model, following the rules published on the official challenge page.

After the submission phase, fan voting will begin on 15 December 2026. LEGO® has confirmed that the favourite entries will be turned into an official product, with the Grand Prize selections announced in 2027.

For AFOLs: the most interesting aspect is not only the prize, but the fact that LEGO® Ideas is allowing builders to design a crossover between two licences that are normally kept separate. That is a relatively rare creative opening for the platform.
